-While I was an undergraduate student at Augsburg College, I was an English literature and writing tutor (Sept. 2005- May 2007) I have taught two semesters of freshman college-level English composition courses at Vincennes University and three college-level English courses at the Indiana Institute of Technology as well. I am a teaching professional and tutor committed to instilling an appreciation for written communication and literature in all students. I am an enthusiastic teacher with background in basic writing pedagogy, inter-disciplinary research, technical and professional writing, and the humanities. I am a young writer just starting my career as teacher and I am highly interested in helping students to understand the importance of literacy and communication in a technology and internet driven age. I am comfortable working with students of any age and skill level. I have experience teaching both basic grammar and writing skills, as well as academic and college level research, critical thinking, and analysis skills. I have a strong background in the humanities as well (I went to school to be a writer and better thinker). I am particularly enthusiastic about helping young people to navigate the world and empower themselves by becoming confident in their abilities to articulate themselves through written communication.
